Classes begin in early September and end in late May. We offer two weeks of themed mini camps during the summer months.

EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS

Closing of the school due to inclement weather or other natural emergencies will usually coincide with TV and radio announcements made for Springfield School District 186. Whenever these events occur within District 186, St. John's Preschool will also suspend operations.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthday celebrations are encouraged! Parents may bring napkins, cups, plates, and/or take home treat bags during the month of their child's birthday, at a time agreed upon with the teacher. NO FOOD TREATS brought by the child's family will be served at the Preschool. If sending treat bags, please be considerate of children with food allergies.

Children born in summer months can celebrate their birthdays at a time agreed upon with their teacher. Classroom teachers are available to assist with these special events. Parents will be notified by the child's teacher of other holiday celebrations held throughout the year.

Before the start of each school year, a Parent Information Night is held. At this time, you will receive an orientation folder containing information about the school as well as information from your child's teacher. This folder will include the Parent Guidelines which you can also view here or download.
